Investor Protection Alliance

Dear SVC and NIAP Members,

On behalf of both the Stanford Victims Coalition (SVC) and the Network for Investor Action and Protection (NIAP), we are both thrilled to announce a formal partnership between our two organizations with the creation of the Investor Protection Alliance (IPA).

The Alliance brings together two regional organizations with a mutual goal - REAL investor protection. By joining forces to create the Investor Protection Alliance, we create a national voice for relief for victims of both the Stanford and Madoff frauds while also improving protections for all investors who entrust their savings to a SIPC-member broker dealer.

Both the SVC and NIAP bring considerable bipartisan political support for legislative relief from the House and the Senate during the next Congressional session. The Alliance unites thousands of Stanford and Madoff victims across the country to support Congressman Garrett's and other members' strong recommitment to legislative reform of the Securities Investor Protection Act of 1970 (SIPA) through successor legislation to HR 757 (The Equitable Treatment of Investors Act).

We both believe this natural alliance of our two victims groups bolsters our chances of success by dramatically increasing our grassroots efforts, speaking with a unified voice, and obtaining the necessary support. We believe we can, as Congressman Garrett says, "see this through," but we need your commitment and participation as we enter this next, more promising Congressional session.
